Credited as being the super-sub, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie injected some much needed cheer into the lives of Portsmouth fans on Saturday as the former Arsenal flop produced a man-of-the-match performance that dumped rivals Southampton out the FA Cup.
Avram Grant should be afforded a slice of credit for bringing on the left-sided livewire on the hour mark. The maligned Israeli manager replaced the ineffective Basinas and dropped enforcer Papa Bouba Diop further back in midfield, which allowed the oncoming Quincy the extra space he needed to make his mark on the match.
The Ghanaian-Dutch forward, who tormented Saints full-back Wayne Thomas time after time, scored a goal and provided two assists as Pompey scored four goals to win the match.

Turning to Germany, all eyes were on Ruud van Nistelrooy on Saturday in the Bundesliga as the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker came off the bench for new employers Hamburg and stole the headlines claiming a match-winning brace.
The Dutchman entered the field of play in the 65th minute and, little over ten minutes later, he found the back of the net twice to determine the encounter and confirm why the northern Germany club have made him one of the top earners in the Bundesliga.
