Mass armed brawl interrupts amateur match in Paris banlieue Val-de-Marne

The amateur game between Ivry-sur-Seine and Val-de-Fontenay in the Paris banlieue of Val-de-Marne on the 2nd of June played out like a scene from the film La Haine.

The game was stopped in the 63rd minute as gangs of young thugs from both sides’ support invaded the pitch and violently attacked each other with baseball bats, knives, petrol bombs, steel bars, and even paintball guns.

The police finally arrived on the scene after several minutes to break it up, but made no arrests.

Four Val-de-Fontenay players were injured, though not seriously.
