A number of Italian papers, including Gazzetta dello Sport, carry quotes from Mario Balotelli’s agent this Tuesday morning, linking the former Manchester City striker with a move to Chelsea.
The basis for said transfer is the (supposed) good relations between Balotelli and Jose Mourinho – our recollection is that The Special One and Super Mario did not get on at all during their time together at the San Siro…
According to Mino Raiola: “Mourinho and Balotelli at Chelsea? They broke up well, they are always in contact, there is mutual respect.”
Raiola continued: “People can say many things about Balotelli, but they cannot say he is not a great striker. Mario to Chelsea? It could happen, but (Milan chief Adriano) Galliani obviously does not want that to happen.”
AC Milan have endured a terrible start to the Serie A season and are already 11 points off a Champions League spot.
If the Rossoneri were to fail to reach Europe’s premier competition it would be no surprise should they wish to offload their star player.
However, whether Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen on working with Mario Balotelli again is unclear.
