Manchester United’s Sergio Romero makes Europa League XI of the Week [Graphic]

Sergio Romero makes Louis van Gaal look pretty bad here, by featuring in the Europa League team of the week.

Not only did Manchester United lose to Danish minnows Midtjylland, but their goalkeeper was their best player, which means we can fairly say that United could have lost by even more.

And Romero being named in the Europa League team of the week also poo-poos Van Gaal’s ‘Murphys’ Law’ excuse: he’d lamented the injury to David De Gea in the warm-up, but Romero’s presence in this UEFA team proves that United didn’t miss De Gea on the night.

Surprisingly, United’s chief tormentor in Denmark, Paul Onuachu, doesn’t make the team.

In fact, just one Midtjylland player makes the team in Bent Hansen, which is a shame for the Danish minnows, given how well they played.

It’s an all Spanish front two, as Aritz Aduriz and Fernando Llorente feature following their performances for Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla respectively.
