Manchester United target Toni Kroos asked Bayern Munich to let him join Real Madrid [El Confidencial]
Is Manchester United target Toni Kroos heading to Real Madrid?
Spanish daily El Confidencial are claiming on Friday that the 24-year-old Kroos is now angling to engineer a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
According to the Spanish paper, Carlo Ancelotti’s number one objective is summer to to bolster his midfield options, and with the likes of Paul Pogba proving difficult to land, Kroos is now on the Madrid shopping list.
El Confidencial claim that Kroos had “urged” Bayern Munich to listen to offers, “to sit and negotiate if Real Madrid make a move of submitting a proposal”.
Whether the deal can come to fruition remains in doubt, particularly as Kroos went on the record less than 10 days ago to say:
I would be very surprised [if Bayern let me leave before end of my contract in 2015]. The club was very clear and told me that a transfer in 2014 would not be possible.
There have been many speculations, but Manchester United was never an issue and is no issue right now.
