The Spanish and English press have joined forces in a buck-passing rumour today surrounding a possible move from Manchester United for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez.
The Express claim the story originated from Barcelona-based SPORT, while SPORT say it started in Blighty. Someone’s telling porkies.
Despite the fact that Alexis is now playing his best football since arriving at the Catalan giants, they somehow believe United are considering a January move for the Chilean, who Barcelona value between £22 million.
With United’s wingers Young, Valencia and Nani neck-and-neck in a three-way race to the bottom, the Manchester side could do with a wide man, and Sanchez would fall into their price range.
But after the humiliation of missing out on Cesc and Thiago, would Moyes really risk a third-time-lucky deal with Barcelona?
