Marca are often billed as the mouthpiece of Real Madrid and an article on Angel Di Maria today very much reads like a come-and-get-me-plea from the Argentine midfielder.
The Argentine has been heavily linked with Manchester United over recent days especially as Louis van Gaal was quoted as saying his new side lack a world class winger “like Cristiano or Di Maria.”
So far, no bid has been forthcoming from United for Di Maria, and he only has one option after PSG concluded that the deal was too expensive for them and would interfere with complying to the FFP rules.
Di Maria travelled to Cardiff with the Real Madrid squad and was named on the substitutes bench for the Super Cup final but did not play a single minute of the 2-0 win.
Marca also confirm that Real Madrid will not lower their asking price for Di Maria which is 60 million euros.
Manchester United may wish to lower that by leaving it until later in the window but its fair to say players like Di Maria are not available in every window.
He would add energy and quality to a Manchester United midfield that has been lacking those assets in recent years…
