Man United’s need for a centre-mid grows Michael Carrick is out for ‘a long time’, estimated 10 weeks

Louis van Gaal dropped a bombshell at the end of his first presser as Manchester United boss.

The Iron Tulip revealed that star central midfielder Michael Carrick has picked up an unspecified injury in the past few days which will keep him sidelined for “a long time.. too long”.

Fearing the worst, many United fans will now be expecting their club to ramp up efforts to sign a centre-mid, with Arturo Vidal a possible option for around 50 million euros.

Currently Man United’s possible central midfield options include Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Shinji Kagawa, Marouane Fellaini.
