The front page of Italian daily Tuttosport on Sunday have a transfer story involving Manchester United and Inter Milan.
According to the report, Manchester United are poised to sign Inter Milan’s 28-year-old attacking midfielder Fredy Guarin, while the deal will see Javier Hernandez leave Old Trafford to move to the San Siro.
Guarin is rumoured to have turned down moved to both Wolfsburg and Zenit St Petersburg this summer, while a switch to Serie A champions Juventus fell through in January.
With Guarin looking to Exit Inter, and with Chicharito on the outside at United, the paper talk suggests that Inter and United are talking about a straight swap deal, which does seem highly unlikely, although not impossible.
When asked directly whether he would keep Chicharito this season, new Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has said:
I have to see if he performs how I want. Now I can only see what he has showed under the guidance of another Coach. We will train and after that he will perform in a match and then I can say something about that.
It’s worth noting that the same story was promulgated in the Daily Star on Saturday.
