Another day, another defender for Manchester United fans to get familiar with.
According to Germany’s Kicker, the Red Devils are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Ömer Toprak.
Bayer are eighth in the Bundesliga, and it is becoming increasingly likely they’ll miss out of all European football next season.
Facing that disappointment, Kicker fear that Bayer’s top assets could force their way out the club this summer, and Turkish international centre-half Toprak is one player tipped with jumping ship.
Toprak is under contract at Leverkusen until 2018, and so it’s probably that big money would need to be spent to land the 26-year-old.
But Man United have deep pockets, and Kicker note the Red Devils may move for Toprak in the off-season.
Kicker add that Man United have been scouting Toprak, however they fail to specify how much United would be willing to spend on the defender.
