Man United keeper David De Gea makes Spain debut, marks occasion with Tweets & Instagram post

After a fantastic season at club level, where he was voted player of the season, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea made his full international debut for Spain on Saturday night.

World champions Spain beat El Salvador 2-0 in Maryland and De Gea came on for the final seven minutes of the match, as a replacement for Iker Casillas.

It looks like De Gea is Spain’s number three going into the World Cup with Casillas and Pepe Reina ahead of the Manchester United custodian.

So, it made sense for Del Bosque to make sure De Gea got some playing time ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

After the friendly international, De Gea took to social media to mark the occasion with a Tweet and Instagram post that simply said: “Another dream comes true!!”

In addition, Barcelona and Spain full back Jordi Alba also seemed keen to congratulate De Gea with his own post on Instagram.

Alba: “Great team win. With De Gea. Congratulations on your debut crack! Now off to Brazil!”
