For some Manchester United fans, Bastian Schweinsteiger has been a fine signing and is one of the few players currently at Old Trafford to show a bit of fight.

Certainly, Schweinsteiger was considered to have played well for Manchester United in the goalless draw with West Ham.

Most pundits felt the only reason Bastian Schweinsteiger was withdrawn on 73 minutes for Memphis Depay was to rest the German international for the crucial Champions League clash with Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

But, Bild have secured some intriguing quotes from Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal and it turns out that Dutchman is not happy with Bastian Schweinsteiger’s performance.

LVG told Bild: “I think he is able to play a better game.”

Van Gaal continued: “So far we have not seen the best of Schweinsteiger. The player I know from Bayern Munich. I think I’ll talk to him.”

Once again with Louis van Gaal, it is difficult to know whether its the system of the players themselves that are responsible for some dull performances.

But, with Schweinsteiger considered a key player under van Gaal, these quotes are sure to raise eyebrows before the trip to Germany and the key Champions League clash with Wolfsburg on Tuesday.
