Considering Luis Suarez has said this summer that he wants to leave Liverpool due to the English press, the Uruguayan striker has certainly been vocal to the Spanish speaking media in recent days.
On Sunday, Suarez gave an in-depth interview to El Pais about Uruguay’s chances at the Confederations Cup where he hinted at staying at Liverpool.
It appears that after Uruguay’s 2-1 defeat to Spain on Sunday night, Suarez again spoke of his future plans to Madrid based paper AS.
When questioned on whether he could leave Liverpool for Real Madrid, Suarez said: “No one has talked to me or Liverpool.”
After equalling Diego Forlan’s record of 33 goals for the Uruguay national team, Suarez added: “I’m here to play for my country. The press have been talking about my future, nothing is concrete. Just rumours.”
Considering in earlier statements this summer, Suarez said “it is my dream to play for Real Madrid,” we should all be prepared for a long drawn out transfer saga.
