Turkish website Milliyet has relayed bad news for Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic.
Currently at Fenerbahce, it’s been reported that Markovic’s season is over with a hamstring injury.
Liverpool signed the Serbian winger from Benfica for £20m in 2014, but he struggled to impress under Brendan Rodgers in his first season at Anfield. He scored three goals in 23 starts at Anfield, and he’s since been farmed out.
Markovic’s time in Istanbul has been stunted by constant injures, forcing him to miss a massive 20 matches this season.
His last league appearance was back on February 5, while Markovic racked up just 14 league appearances this term.
When he was fit, however, the Liverpool loanee played.
After taking advise from Liverpool’s medical staff, Markovic has traveled to Portugal in order to be treated by FC Porto’s medical team.
