Joe Allen is very much the forgotten man of Anfield at the moment.
The “Welsh Xavi” has missed most of 2013 with shoulder and hamstring injuries whilst Brendan Rodgers’ side have kicked on in the Premier League and the likes of Lucas Leiva, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson have locked down the central midfield slots.
Yet, with a busy winter ahead, Liverpool will likely utilise Allen a lot more in the coming weeks, so playing full 90 minutes and being awarded the man of the match award will have done wonders for the midfielder’s confidence.
Allen showed off his passing ability, defensive qualities and strength to hold off a man as well as stamina after the serious injury problems as Wales were pegged back late on to a 1-1 draw by Finland.
You suspect Liverpool fans and Brendan Rodgers will be very enthused by the video above.
