Liverpool Luis Suarez picked for Uruguay’s 23-man World Cup squad despite injury

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is going to the World Cup. Fact.

On Saturday afternoon, Uruguay’s 23-man squad for the World Cup was announced, and Luis Suarez, despite having gone under the knife recently for knee surgery, has been selected in the party.

Suarez’s Liverpool team mate Sebastian Coates managed to play his way into the squad in recent weeks after recovering from damaged knee ligaments in August and missing most of the season.

Uruguay face England, Italy and Costa Rica in Brazil.
