Portuguese newspaper Record claims this Monday morning that Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Sporting Lisbon winger Jeffren.
The former Barcelona winger, who came through the ranks of the famed La Masia academy, is reportedly being tracked by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as a likely January loan signing.
Record say Liverpool have already made their interest known to Sporting and a deal could be wrapped up by the Merseyside giants in the coming days.
Liverpool were linked with Jeffren in the summer, with the Venezuelan-born winger’s lack of first team opportunities reigniting their interest.
Jeffren has barely played for Sporting Lisbon since moving from Barcelona, scoring one goal in 149 minutes of football so far in 2012/2o13.
The 24-year-old will offer pace and skill up front where he could be trusted to provide good service for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Video evidence of Jeffren can be seen below.
