The main focus in this encounter is undoubtedly Birmingham manager Lee Clark. The former Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder was surprisingly sacked as Huddersfield boss in February and took over Brum in June.
Despite breaking records in League One with Huddersfield, not everything has gone swimmingly for Clark at Birmingham in 2012/2013, languishing in 18th and really struggling for consistency.
Nevertheless, there is plenty of quality in the Birmingham side with the likes of Jack Butland, Leroy Lita and Peter Lovenkrands with highly rated Nathan Redmond pushing for a starting berth.
Huddersfield will be pleased by their start to life in the Championship but a mini-blip could get worse having tasted defeat to Watford and Leicester City in successive matches.
On Tuesday night they were on the wrong end of an Antony Knockaert wonder show and they will be eager to show the kind of away form that saw them pick up victories at Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool in September.
Highly-rated young English keeper Alex Smithies will be eager to show what he can do against Butland and Oliver Norwood is a player to look out for having come through the ranks at Manchester United and who scored three in three before the Leicester defeat.
