Fourth placed Watford welcome 5th placed Crystal Palace on Friday night in an important match which could propel one team into the automatic promotion places.
Gianfranco Zola’s Watford have won four of their last five games but face stern opposition in Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace. The two highest scoring teams in the league promise goals for the paying customers at Vicarage Road.
Zola has some injury problems to deal with. Defenders Joel Ekstrand and Nyron Nosworthy are both considered doubts for the crunch match.
Despite Crystal Palace’s strong league position, they have been struggling for form. 3 wins from their last 15 in all competitions signals a potential victory for in-form Watford.
Palace will be without skipper Mile Jedinak after he suffered a broken nose but Palace should be able to welcome back Kahisho Dikgacoi after he returned from the African Cup of Nations.
Watford will call on top scorer Matej Vydra to inflict damage on the Palace defence. With 19 goals to his name already this season, Vydra has the potential to add to his account against an out-of-sorts Crystal Palace side.
Watford are the favourites for this game but one thing that’s for sure is that we’ll be seeing goals galore on Friday night.
