Lionel Messi got a priest to hand Pope Francis a signed Barcelona shirt

They are both Argentine. They both love the Beautiful Game. And now they both have Lionel Messi jerseys.

A strange sight was recorded at the Vatican on Wednesday as a priest handed Pope Francis a signed Lionel Messi, Barcelona shirt during the Pontiff’s general audience.

After kissing the hand of his leader, priest Miguel Delgado Galindo handed Pope Francis a Messi shirt which the Pontiff seemed more than happy to receive.

This was the second soccer shirt the Pope has received this week, after Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy handed Francis a La Furia Roja shirt earlier in the week.
