Lionel Messi breaks Pele’s record for club goals in 6 consecutive seasons [Graphic]

Well done Lionel Messi!

This is some record from the Barcelona superstar and Messi still has quite a few more games to establish an even bigger margin over Brazilian great Pele.

On Sunday, Lionel Messi scored the quickest hat-trick of his career, with three goals coming in 11 second half minutes as Barcelona crushed Rayo Vallecano 6-1.

As a result, Lionel Messi has now scored 315 goals for Barcelona in six amazing seasons.

And, the Barcelona superstar still has potentially a further 19 games to further his tally.

Pele had set the record for most goals in six consecutive seasons, playing for Santos between 1958 and 1963.

Whether Brazilian/South American defences were better than what Messi is currently up against is probably an unknown factor…
