Lewis Holtby apologises to Spurs fans on Facebook, describes City defeat as “worst” of his life

He may be a genial fellow, but is not hard to point the finger at Lewis Holtby for one of the poorest displays as Spurs were routed 6-0 at the Emirates.
The German midfielder started in what is turning into Tottenham’s problem number 10 position and barely had a sniff before being substituted for Emmanuel Adebayor at half-time.
Holtby isn’t quite the creative force he would need to be to playing behind Roberto Soldado and whilst his social media appearances are a lot of fun, there are plenty of question marks surrounding his ability on the pitch.
He is though hugely honest and a admired by Spurs fans for always giving 100% and seemingly caring about the club.
On Monday night, Holtby sent out a heartfelt message to his followers on Facebook and received plenty of support.
