It’s horrible when players you’ve adored decide to hang up their boots.
Today two legends of the game, Paul Scholes and Michael Owen called it a day.
Paul Scholes has spent his whole career at Manchester United and will never be forgotten as one of the greatest English midfielders of all time.
Michael Owen became a teenage sensation at Liverpool before spells at Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and finally Stoke City.
Both players came on as subs today for their respective clubs, each receiving a special goodbye from their supporters.
Paul Scholes, in typical Scholes fashion, picked up a yellow card.
