Kurt Zouma calls Chelsea teammate Diego Costa a “cheat” after the Arsenal game [Mirror]

Arsenal fans will be sure to take note of the following quotes from Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.

According to the Mirror, Zouma has given an interview with BeIN Sport following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Arsenal last weekend, and the French centre-half has called Diego Costa a cheat.

Costa remains at the centre of a furore over his behaviour in the Arsenal game.

The Chelsea striker slapped Laurent Koscielny in the face before he scratched Gabriel on the back of his neck, however Costa managed to avoid getting sent off.

By contrast, Arsenal defender Gabriel was red carded for kicking out at the Blues attacker.

Now Kurt Zouma has had his say, and the defender has failed to shield his teammate. As reported by the Mirror:

BeIN Sport’s Carrie Brown asked: “Of course Arsenal will feel hard done-by, they will claim you should have had a player sent-off in Diego Costa but this is a player that’s famed for riling other players isn’t it? Are you surprised that they reacted in this way?”

Zouma replied: “No, we’re not surprised because we know Diego. Everyone knows Diego and this guy likes to cheat a lot and put the opponent out of his game.

“That happened in the game but he’s a really nice guy. We’re proud to have him, like the other players, and we’re happy to win this game today.”

Zouma’s comments are sure to only increase calls for Diego Costa to be slapped with retroactive punishment for his actions in the Arsenal game.
