Jose Mourinho, who started his football career as a translator alongside Sir Bobby Robson at Sporting Lisbon, Porto and FC Barcelona, gave an in-depth interview with Canal+ on Sunday night in French in which the Special One discussed Chelsea’s transfer targets this summer.
The headline news from Mourinho’s interview on the Canal Football Show was that the Chelsea boss ruled out any moves for PSG forwards Edinson Cavani or Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.
Below is a translation of Jose Mourinho’s interview on French TV:
Would you coach in France?
“I’m very happy in England. I’m at a club, which for me is more than a club, I have a special relationship with Chelsea. This is a project that I love. I can work in France in the future, why not. Right now I think it’s a championship that was not the same league as in England. This is a championship in which it is easy to say who will finish first and who will finish second, and for me, at this point in my career, I need a little more.”
Did PSG offer you a job?
“I did not say yes or no, I have not received any actual direct communication. We have a relationship, I was honored to be invited into the owner’s house in Qatar three or four years before they bought the club, and I respect this relationship, but after being at Real Madrid I told everyone what I wanted to do, I wanted to return to England. I do not want to feed false questions, I want to stay at Chelsea, I have four years of the contract and then we’ll see.”
Zlatan to Chelsea?
“This is impossible. This is another topic I do not want talk about because it is impossible. He is happy in Paris. I know this because we’re friends and we are in contact. Paris, with its economic potential, will never want to open the door. It’s mission impossible [to bring Zlatan to Chelsea].”
Exchange Cavani – Hazard?
“No. Eden is our boy. This is the guy we want to have for ten years, and we want to build the team around Eden. He is a player who has this style of football and being that we want.”
