The future of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is hanging in the balance after the Blues lost 1-0 to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The defeat was Chelsea’s eighth Premier League loss of the season, and Mourinho’s side are now only three points above the relegation zone.
A report from the Telegraph claims that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is considering the Portuguese boss’ future in West London, after the Russian billionaire has seen no significant improvement in the clubs performances on the pitch.
Despite publically backing the ‘special one’ in early October, the club said then that results must improve but they have lost just as many league games, four, since then as they had done prior to the statement, leaving the Chelsea owners with huge decision to make.
After Saturday’s defeat at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho said that he could no longer set a target of the top four, saying instead that the top six might be more realistic.
