This is an interesting interview with Jose Mourinho, carried out by Shaka Hislop for ESPN.
Hislop being a former keeper himself, the conversation quickly swayed to the topic of Chelsea custodians, both past and present.
Hislop was curious as to how and why Mourinho could let Cech leave for rivals Arsenal, which is a dilemma Mourinho explained eloquently.
Admitting that he initially didn’t want to let the Czech move to a rival, he eventually ceded to Cech’s wish, reasoning that the keeper had earned the right to choose where to go after over a decade of loyal service.
And although Mourinho came to terms with it, he clearly wasn’t too impressed by Cech’s decision, comparing him to John Terry, saying
‘It’s a decision that for example John Terry would never make, because for him (it would be) impossible to play against another Premier League club.’
