Irony: The Highlands derby was abandoned after the lights went out at Ross County’s Global Energy Stadium

If you’re going to name your football ground the Global Energy Stadium, the very least you have to do is ensure a good energy output over the 90 minutes of hosting games, otherwise you’ll look a bit silly.

But Ross County’s high-powered, energetically named stadium suffered that very fate last night, as the first Highland derby of the season between Ross County and Inverness was postponed by the police after floodlight failure.

That’s right, the lights went out at the Global Energy Stadium.

O the Irony.
