Ipswich haven’t tasted defeat since the 23rd of November and their good form has moved them up to 6th in the Championship. Manager Mick McCarthy will want his players to increase their streak to 10 games unbeaten and move clear of rivals Brighton and Leeds.
Ipswich will run last minute fitness tests on Daryl Murphy and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake before the match to see if they are fit. However McCarthy also has striker David McGoldrick available and he has 12 goals already this season.
QPR have seen their automatic promotion charge stall over the past few match and only returned to winning ways with a tight 2-1 victory over Doncaster. However the Hoops are still playing well enough and can beat anyone on their day. Manager Harry Redknapp will look to improve his side’s away form but will not have to worry about their defensive record, having just conceded 14 league goals all season and boast 14 clean sheets in total.
Redknapp will be without Alejandro Faurlin and Julio Cesar but winger Junior Hoilett might return. Rob Green, Richard Dunne and Niko Kranjcar will return to the starting XI after being rested v Everton.
Possible starting lineups
Ipswich: Gerken; Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell; Tunnicliffe, Hyam, Skuse, Nouble; Murphy, McGoldrick
Queens Park Rangers: Green; Simpson, Dunne, Hill, Assou-Ekotto; Barton, Carroll, Phillips, O’Neil, Kranjcar; Austin
