Its been a difficult week for the former World Footballer of the Year. At the start of the week Ronaldinho was forced to deny speculation that he is considering retiring from football at the end of the season. And on Wednesday night in the match with Udinese, Ronaldinho suffered more difficulties as he tried his best to lift AC Milan as the Rossoneri fell 1-nil to the Zebrette.
By the time the bucked-toothed wonder had made his introduction off the bench, Leonardo’s team were already playing catch-up after the evergreen Antonio Di Natale struck. Up against it, Ronaldinho quickly proved himself to be Milan’s most influential player after replacing Alexandre Pato after the striker picked up a knock.
With almost his first touch of the ball Ronaldinho came close to scoring, the Brazilian seeing an on-target free-kick take a deflection to narrowly miss the far post. Thereafter he played some lovely through balls to his team-mates, particularly one ball through to Inzaghi who typically found himself flagged for being in a border-line offside position.
Towards the end of the match Ronaldinho also proved that he still has an incredible turn of pace, destroying defender Dusan Basta down the inside left channel before seeing his shot turned away by keeper Samir Handanovic.
