IMScouting have launched their new “Players of the week” feature that identifies the hottest performances seen in world football over the past seven days.
This week’s players of the week were as follows:
Wednesday (18.2): First up were two South Africans. The first, Bebego Lengerman (pictured), a 28-year-old playing for Bidvest Wits who claimed a stylish doubled and an assist. The second, Tlou Segolela, a 20-year-old newcomer from Bloemfontein Celtic who came off the bench in the 84th minute and scored a brace.
Friday (20.2): The Frenchman Yann Kermorgant put on a great show for Stade de Reims with a unique assist and a great goal.
Saturday (21.2): Demba Ba claimed a hat-trick in Hoffenheim’s 3-3 draw at Stuttgart. In Belgium, Thomas Matton and Ernest Nfor both had a heavy contribution in the outrageous 6-0 win for Zlute Waregem, while 20-year-old Croatian Ivan Perisic had a great game for Roeselare scoring a brace including a sensational winning goal. Heading over to Switzerland, Young Boys’ centre-forward Seydou Doumbia, a 21-year-old Ivorian striker who is the number three on the top scorers list of the Swiss league, was introduced as a 67th minute substitute and scored two crackers.
Sunday (22.2): Aide Brown, a promising 20-year-old Nigerian, scored a double for Nauchatel Xamax in the Swiss Super League. And every now and then one player dominates a match from start to finish, and that is exactly what happened to Mbark Boussoufa in Anderlecht’s meeting with Standard Liege. This pacey attacking midfielder bagged a brace as well as an assist, and was rewarded with the man of the match award.
