Of all Tottenham’s loanees last season, Iago Falque could have a claim to have been the most impressive.
Despite the fact he has barely appeared for the Spurs first team, Falque played well on loan at Rayo Vallecano last season in La Liga.
Three goals in 28 appearances only tells half the story, as Falque was a key player for Vallecano as they moved away from the relegation zone at the end of the season.
Whether he is suited to English football remains a mystery perhaps only new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino now has the answer to.
Falque has been linked with permanent moves to the likes of Sevilla and Fiorentina over the past few months, it is unknown whether he is keen to fight for a first team place at White Hart Lane.
On Wednesday evening, Falque confirmed he was heading back to Spurs for first team training, which begins on Friday.
