Louis Van Gaal has the highest ratio of goalless league games of any Man United manager to have managed 50 or more matches.
The stat comes, after United recorded their fifth goalless draw in nine games at home to West Ham on Saturday.
According to Opta, Van Gaal has the highest percentage of 0-0 draws of any United manager that has been in charge for at least 50 league games, suggesting that the Dutchman may actually be the most boring manager in the club’s history.
Louis Van Gaal has come under intense criticism for his side’s boring style of football, and there seems to be no suggestion that United’s Dutch coach is keen to change that perception, based on his line up from Saturday’s encounter against a stubborn West Ham side.
The 64-year-old opted to start with Marouane Fellaini upfront, in the absence of skipper Wayne Rooney, a decision which certainly did not go down well with disgruntled fans.
