Reports have been swirling round Italy on Monday that AC Milan forward Antonio Cassano suffered a stroke in the hours following AC Milan’s 3-2 win at Roma on Saturday night.
The Rossoneri have categorically denied these rumours: “AC Milan inform that the news in circulation containing a hypothetical diagnosis on Antonio Cassano’s state of health cannot be considered true as it does not come from an accredited medical source. AC Milan underline that Antonio Cassano is in a phase of marked improvement and in the next few days will undergo further medical examinations.”
On the plane home from Rome, Cassano reportedly joked with his team mates before problems developed with his vision, speech and movement.
Either way, hours before these problems flared up, Cassano was introduced as a substitute with 17 minutes to go and produced this excellent piece of skill to skin two Roma defenders before skewing his shot wide.
