A history of the greatest European Championship moments in Lego
- Updated: June 3, 2012
Graham Love may be a teenage geek whose spent far too long in his bedroom playing with his Lego, but we are throughly indebted to the YouTuber for his incredible viral video.
Love, 18-years-old, invested hours of his life painstakingly using stop-motion camera tricks to create a two-minute video recreating the greatest European Championship moments throughout the generations.
Where Love truly excelled was by mashing together his Lego recreations with the real commentary snippets from the time of the iconic images.
Although including moments such as Michel Plantini’s inspirational performances in 1984, Love’s video is mainly Anglo-centric. Accordingly we are able to enjoy a genuis remake of Paul Gascoigne’s famous dentist’s chair celebration against Scotland in Euro 96, while Stuart Pearce’s thumping penalty against Spain is also superbly referenced.
