2-down, Lierse looked to stage a comeback with an 83rd minute free-kick when Macedonian defender Boban Grncarov morphed into the Cobra Kai’s Johnny Lawrence with an outrageous, unprovoked take-down on Standard defender Felipe in the Liege box.

That was only the start of the mayhem.

After chucking Felipe to the floor, Grncarov ratcheted the aggression by grabbing the Brazilian’s afro in an attempt to pull him up on his feet by his roots. Felipe reacted instantly, jumping to his feet and pushing the Lierse player in the back.

The referee reacted by sending both players off, but that did little to stop Grncarov’s hair-raising antics as he incredibly again pulled Felipe’s locks as he was being served with his dismissal.

The second hair-pull pushed Felipe over the edge, while it also sparked Sebastien Pocognoli into a cheeky kick-out on Grncarov also.

The Brazilian immediately stopped protesting his dismissal as he charged fist-raised in Grncarov’s direction. Thankfully Liege teammate Birkir Bjarnason caught Felipe en route to slug Grncarov and the punch was averted (see picture).

Felipe was then manhandled off the pitch as players from all sides piled in to the fracas, while the Brazilian was abused by home fans as he was bundled down the tunnel before a rogue snowball smacked the Liege defender in the face.
