Phil Brown on Jimmy Bullard: “It was a fantastic celebration. Great comedy is about timing. I couldn’t deliver my post-match speech as I was laughing so much. The whole thing was timed to perfection… You could not have had a celebration like that, after a goal, unless it was at Eastlands and was in the goal in front of the Hull fans. I had no idea it was going to happen. I was trying to arrange a five-man midfield at the time so I didn’t see it. But my analysis guy showed me it on the laptop when we got into the changing room.”
Everyone’s favourite footballer, Jimmy “the wig” Bullard, had football fans all over the country in stitches at the weekend as the Hull midfielder mocked Phil Brown’s now infamous halftime team talk on the Eastlands’ pitch from just over a year ago.
After scoring a late equaliser to condemn City to their seventh straight league draw, Bullard sat his team-mates down on the turf, stood in the middle of them, and proceeded to wag his finger at them as the Hull players laughed and cheered.
