UPDATE: West Ham release an update on Dan Potts on Thursday.
Fears were grave towards the end of Arsenal’s 5-1 demolition of West Ham on Wednesday night after the’ Danny Potts was left unconscious after a head clash with Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna.
West Ham’s 18-year-old defender lay motionless for 15 minutes on the Arsenal turf after his full-contact collision with the Gunners’ right back, and the scenes became highly distressing when the teenager was taken off on a stretcher, covered with an emergency blanket in a neck brace and receiving gas.
Reports since, however, have been encouraging.
Potts is rumoured to have regained consciousness in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, however the player will remain under close medical attention throughout the night following the scare.
