Gareth Bale wins PFA Player of the Year & PFA Young Player of the Year #epicbale

“It’s a massive honour. To be voted by your peers is one of the biggest things in the game. I’m delighted.” – Gareth Bale.

Two years after winning the main award, Spurs talisman Gareth Bale has won both main PFA awards at the 2013 edition.

Bale beat off a challenge from Robin van Persie as the next likely candidate to win it. The Dutchman claimed the senior award last year and probably lost out due to a goal scoring drought when votes were cast.

An 11pm embargo was broken by the publicising of the back pages of the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror – giving away the fact Gareth Bale had indeed scooped both awards.

Was it the correct decision?

Should a player be up for both awards?

And, as brilliant as Gareth Bale has been – surely we can only judge his season on whether Spurs finish in the top 4?

The second picture below is how Adidas, who also jumped the embargo, celebrated Gareth Bale’s double award.
