Thanks to Off The Post for bringing to our attention video evidence showing Fulham’s John Paintsil behaving like a dirty cheat, as the defender simulated an injury in an effort to have Stoke’s Ricardo Fuller booked.
The incident occured during Saturday’s goalless draw at the Britannia stadium, as Ricardo Fuller barely grazed John Paintsil’s face with his forehead when the two clashed. As if shot by a bazooka at close range, Paintsil crashed to the floor holding his face in one of the most pathetic attempts to get a player booked seen so far this season.
In response, Steve Claridge made the following remarks. “People are saying he will look at it and be embarrassed, but it’s not about being embarrassed. He is actually cheating. He has no respect for his fellow players, we bang on about the respect issue. Players have to have respect for each other and he clearly hasn’t. He is trying to cheat, he is trying to get Ricardo Fuller sent off, and let’s see him have a three-match ban for that because it is pathetic.”
