Former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes reaches agreement to sign for Liverpool [SPORT]

Tomorrow’s edition fo Barcelona-based daily Sport claims that free agent Victor Valdes has it ‘all done’ with Liverpool.

The Catalan keeper, who was released by Barcelona in the summer by mutual agreement, has had complications all summer; after looking on the cusp of signing for Monaco, the deal fell through at the last.

As a free agent Valdes isn’t subject to the transfer deadline (just like Man United eh), so there’s no great stress for Liverpool to rush the deal through, though it looks to complete, Sport claiming negotiations ran throughout Monday.

Still just 32, Valdes could potentially slot right in as Liverpool number 1 if he’s been training hard enough over the summer, with Mignolet’s displays constantly under the radar.
