Footage emerges of the steward injury during Chelsea 2 – Manchester United 3

The actions of referee Mark Clattenburg were not the only controversial incidents during Manchester United win’s at Chelsea on Sunday.

Like the alleged racist slur uttered by Clattenburg to John Obi Mikel, the incident with the steward took place after Manchester United’s winner scored by Javier Hernandez in front of the Chelsea faithful.

It appears that Manchester United’s Mexican striker angered the home support by celebrating in front of them and goading them somewhat to push the steward over in the melee.

Nevertheless, the behaviour of the Chelsea fans here is nothing short of shambolic and the sort of behaviour many thought was eradicated with the advent of all-seater stadia.

Police are also investigating this incident with the steward needing 10 minutes of treatment in the dying minutes of Chelsea’s home defeat to Manchester United.

The video below is via a Sky Sports News report with the footage only emerging this Monday afternoon.
