Rockstars, even in the world of football it seems, have carte blanche to come and go as they please.
As Roberto Mancini was delivering his post match comments to journalists having wrestled pole position in the title race from rivals United, the suave Italian had the wind plucked out of his sails as Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher walked into the press room.
Gallagher, who was spotted celebrating City’s victory at full time, immediately made a beeline for Mancini’s hand, before the Manc local got to fire off a couple of quips to the computer-laden circle of hacks.
“Ferguson must have been on the whisky,” mocked Liam, before publicly announcing “I love Mancini, he is nearly as cool as me.” He then headed for the exit, hugging Kompany and declaring “Viva La Belgium.”
UPDATE: New footage of when Liam Gallagher met Vincent Kompany. (“His family is mega, your sister is really cool”)
