This video makes me angry.
Cheating and play-acting continue to dog football, with players continually all to happy to humiliate themselves in public by faking and feigning injury simply to get an opponent booked. Forget the fact that footballers are today suppose to be near-perfect physical athletes. Sometime onlookers are supposed to naively believe that the smallest and gentlest of contacts can be hugely painful.
Last Wednesday night, during the Barcelona-Sevilla match in the Copa Del Rey, visiting goalie Andres Palop tried to pull off such a con move by faking stomach pains after Thierry Henry thrusted the ball into the keeper’s mid-drift. Palop’s simulation was embarrassing, and the custodian should have been punished for his cheating.
Andres Palop’s lame attempt to get Thierry Henry booked can be seen here.
