Having been made by Chelsea themselves, this video may end up backfiring on the West Londoners.
It has long been contended that many of today’s Chelsea fans are a bunch of Johnny-Come-Latelies who have jumped on the Roman Revolution bandwagon. These are people who were nowhere to be seen during the dark Matthew Harding/Ken Bates years, who know Vinnie Jones as the guy from Lock Stock, and who have never heard the names John Bumstead, Dmitri Kharine, Craig Burley, Neil Shipperley or Marc Stein.
And so onto the video.
Looking to teach some of today’s most famous Chelsea fans a little about the club’s history, Chelsea have gone about recreating a rendition of the famous 1970 FA Cup Chelsea anthem “Blue Is The Colour.” Personalities included on the video include Alec Stewart, David Baddiel, Trevor Nelson and Lawrence Dallaglio as well as a host of ex-players including Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ken Moncou and Jason Cundy.
It is amazing to see how none of the personalities know the words to the song, although watching them struggle is fun for all non-Blues.
