Everton are weighing up a move for Arsenal youngster Calum Chambers, according to the Mirror.
The former Southampton defender has seen his playing time in North London reduced so far this season, with centre backs Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista all ahead of Chambers in the pecking order at the Emirates.
Gunners boss Arsene Wneger said last week that, while Chambers was signed as a defender from Southampton, in the long term he always believed his best position would be defensive midfield.
But the newspaper claims that Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keeping tabs on the 20-year-old’s situation at the Emirates, as fresh speculation links Blues defender John Stones with a move away from Goodison Park.
The England international is wanted by many clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Chelsea, who many believe will look to bid once again for the Everton defender, when the January transfer window opens.
