Whilst West Ham are delighted with their 3-2 comeback win at Everton on Saturday, Toffees supporters are wondering where they go from here.

Despite having a very strong squad, arguably one of the best in the Premier League era, Everton are simply failing to punch anywhere near their weight under Roberto Martinez.

The Spaniard is admired by the media but increasingly under pressure from Everton supporters who are looking for more than just a mid-table finish.

And, much like the rest of the Premier League, Leicester’s rise to the top of the table and to an extent the form of Spurs and West Ham, shows it is wide open for anyone.

After the West Ham defeat, when Everton led 2-0 and could have gone 3-0 up but Romelu Lukaku saw a penalty saved, the Toffees are 11th in the Premier League.

An assault on the European positions from Everton now looks seriously unlikely.

So, next Saturday’s home FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea looks absolutely enormous for Martinez.

After all, with new owners, Everton are expected to splash the cash next summer…
