“I’m very sorry. It was a heated moment, where we were losing, something I should not have done. I apologize to all my colleagues, coaches, the club, the fans. I apologise and will never do it again.” – Ever Banega.
Valencia’s midfielder enforcer Ever Banega was at the centre of controversy on Sunday night after the Argentinian threw a temper tantrum after being subbed in Los Che’s 3-2 away defeat at Mallorca.
Banega was replaced by David Silva in the 73rd minute, and as he made his way from the field he shoved his way past coach Unai Emery and ignored attempts by the coach to shake his hand. Hugely unimpressed by his player’s unprofessional behaviour, coach Emery was later seen publicly rebuking Banega once he took his seat on the bench.
Ever Banega’s moment of petulance can be seen here.
