England & Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson pre-Italy: ‘Brendan Rodgers has helped improve my game so much’ [Video]

Jordan Henderson was interview by Gabby Logan in the BBC’s preview to England v Italy tonight.

The Liverpool midfielder was asked to take stock of his progress, going from a fringe player in 2012 to a key integral member of Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad, and Hendo recognised that he’s ‘come a long way’.

Henderson attributed much of his improvement to his club boss Brendan Rodgers, who he says has brought him on heaps and bounds, and helped him improve tactically and physically.

On playing with Gerrard, Henderson says it’s ‘an honour’ to be alongside him for club and country, before finishing by playing down the conditions awaiting them in Manaus.
