A hat-trick was just what the doctor ordered for Spurs’ beleaguered striker Roberto Soldado.
The Spaniard’s still only scored one league goal from open play, and had been suffering a prolonged drought in front of goal stretching back to October before his triple against Anzhi in the Europa League last night.
Soldado’s first was a classic poahcer’s goal, stealing a flick on Sigurdsson’s whipped free-kick, and profited well from a Lamela assist for his second, before making no mistake from the spot for his third.
Teammate Andros Townsend surely speaks for all Spurs fans when he says he hopes this pushes Soldado onto a hot scoring run.
